YouTube Re:View

We suggested they do something fun with the “hero” section each week.

We showed them how they could best highlight their top creators.

We made sure to highlight the advertising angle, but in an informal way.

We recommended a “just for fun” module, bringing forward the random discovery aspect of the YouTube brand.

We recommended another module for those “about to go viral” videos.

We found ways to work YouTube marketing insights into the mix, without telling marketers what they should be doing.

Finally, we suggested they have an occasional module to highlight something new to YouTube.

YouTube Re:View is a weekly email newsletter that goes out to marketing and advertising professionals.

The client was having trouble working within his pre-defined content module system. They wanted it to feel more fun and polished, while still providing value to marketers. It needed to convey “Hey, time to take a break and watch some videos,” while subtly playing up the important role that YouTube plays in advertising.

I worked with our strategist to put together a deck of best practices for email newsletters. Then we crafted a number of sample content modules they could repurpose for the redesigned Re:View.
